Ethical Standards

Ethical Standards

Land, Crops & Environment upholds an editorial policy committed to scientific integrity, transparency in the publication process, and adherence to international principles of editorial ethics. The journal follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the Principles of Transparency and Best Practices in Scholarly Publishing established by the Open Access Scholarly Publishing Association (OASPA):

Authorship Policy

Only individuals who have made a substantial and intellectual contribution to the development of the manuscript will be included as authors. To qualify as an author, the following criteria must be met:

  • Active participation in the conception or execution of the research work.

  • Contribution to the writing or critical revision of the manuscript’s intellectual content.

  • Approval of the final version for publication and responsibility for its content.

Authorship must be declared at the time of submission and cannot be modified afterward without valid justification and approval from the Editorial Committee. Merely assisting with data collection, funding, or technical support does not constitute authorship on its own.

A maximum of six authors per article is recommended. Any dispute regarding authorship must be resolved before the editorial process begins. Land, Crops & Environment does not intervene in disputes that arise after publication.

Originality, Plagiarism, and Exclusive Submission

Submitted works must be original, unpublished, and not under review by another journal. Multiple submissions, redundant publication, and self-plagiarism are prohibited.

All manuscripts undergo similarity analysis using anti-plagiarism software (currently Compilatio). If the similarity index exceeds 30%, the manuscript will be rejected for failing to meet ethical standards.

Copyright and Publication License

Authors retain the copyright of their manuscripts.
By submitting an article, they grant Land, Crops & Environment a non-exclusive license to publish, distribute, and preserve the text in repositories and indexing systems.

Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), which allows use, distribution, and reproduction provided the original source is properly cited.

Authors are responsible for obtaining permissions for any third-party copyrighted material (figures, tables, etc.).

Ethical Review and Author Responsibilit

Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the data, honesty in the interpretation of results, and adherence to research ethics. Any irregularity detected during the editorial process or after publication may result in corrections, retractions, or removal of the article, as determined by the Editorial Committee.

Reader Rights and Open Access

The journal guarantees free and unrestricted access to all its content upon publication. No fees are charged to authors for processing, evaluating, or publishing articles (APC-free model). This policy reinforces the principle of free access to scientific knowledge.

Conflicts of Interest

Authors, editors, and reviewers must disclose any financial, institutional, or personal relationships that could influence the results, interpretation, or evaluation of the manuscript. The Editorial Committee reserves the right to reject or reassign a manuscript if it identifies a conflict that compromises impartiality.

Corrections, Errata, and Retractions

The Editorial Committee may publish corrections, errata notes, addenda, or retractions when significant errors or ethical issues are identified. Corrected or retracted versions will remain online with clear annotations indicating their status, ensuring transparency and traceability of the academic record.
